Juggling

Throw stuff, catch stuff, drop stuff โ€” repeat forever.

Juggling three balls is a 20-hour skill spread over two weeks. After that: muscle memory, and you've got a party trick for life. Three tennis balls and a wall are all you need to start.

How to start

  1. 1
Grab 3 tennis balls, socks rolled up, or beanbags.
  2. 2
Start with ONE ball โ€” toss it in an arc from hand to hand.
  3. 3
Two balls โ€” toss, toss, catch, catch. Don't rush.
  4. 4
Three balls โ€” throw one, throw two, catch, throw three.
  5. 5
Drop everything. A lot. Pick it up. That IS the practice.

Plot twists

Ways to spice this up when the basics get boring.

  • Only practice while walking.
  • Juggle fruit instead of balls. Eat what survives.
  • Learn to juggle behind your back before you can juggle normally.
ADHD notes

Impossible to think about your to-do list while juggling. Built-in meditation via repeated failure.

Fun fact

The oldest known depiction of juggling is an Egyptian tomb painting from around 2000 BC.
